Mochi Moon Privacy Policy

Mochi Moon ("we", "the app") is a period and cycle tracker with an optional companion app for a partner. Your cycle data is personal health information, so we built the app to collect as little as possible and to keep you in control.
The short version: your data stays on your phone. We don't have servers that store your health data, we don't sell or share it with advertisers, and we don't use third-party analytics or tracking. Your partner sees only what you choose to share, and you can stop sharing at any time.
What the app stores, and where
On your device. Everything you log stays in the app on your iPhone, protected by iOS data protection (encrypted when your phone is locked). This includes: - period dates, flow, symptoms, moods, energy, sleep, notes, medications and check-ins - your Care Card (cravings, comforts, favorites) and settings - your name, avatar and pet
In your own iCloud account (only if you connect a partner). When you invite a partner, the app uses Apple's CloudKit to store a filtered summary in your private iCloud account and shares it with the partner you invite. It contains only what you've turned on in Sharing & Privacy, which can include: - your current phase, cycle day and upcoming period timing - your fertile window and late-period alerts (both off by default) - your daily check-in needs and Care Card - your first name, avatar and pet
Sensitive fields are stored with CloudKit encryption. We, the developer, cannot read your iCloud data. When your partner uses their app, a small amount of their data (their name, avatar and completed quests) is written to the same shared space so it can appear in your app.
Your partner's phone. Your partner's app keeps a copy of what you shared so it can show it offline and schedule reminders. When you pause or disconnect sharing, their app stops receiving updates, and disconnecting deletes the shared data from iCloud.
What we do NOT do
- We don't run servers that store your health data.
- We don't sell, rent or trade your data.
- We don't use advertising, ad identifiers or tracking across apps and websites.
- We don't include third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDKs.
- We don't use your data to train AI models.
Purchases
Subscriptions (Mochi Moon Plus) are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. Apple provides us with standard, anonymized sales reports.
Notifications
Reminders (period heads-ups, daily check-ins, partner updates) are scheduled on your device. A "discreet" option hides cycle details from your lock screen.
Health information
Mochi Moon provides general wellness information and estimates based on what you log. It is not a medical device and not a method of contraception. Predictions, including fertile windows, are estimates only. Talk to a healthcare professional about medical questions.
Your choices and rights
- See and change your data: everything is visible and editable in the app.
- Control sharing: choose exactly what your partner sees in Me → Sharing & Privacy. Pause or disconnect anytime in Me → Partner.
- Delete your data: deleting the app removes the data stored on your phone. Disconnecting your partner deletes the shared data from iCloud. You can also manage iCloud data in iPhone Settings → [your name] → iCloud.
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or US state privacy laws), you may have additional rights, such as access, correction and deletion. Because we don't hold your data on our servers, most of these rights are exercised directly in the app and in your iCloud settings. You can also contact us for help.
Children
Mochi Moon is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for meaningful changes, let you know in the app.
